CCR Walks: Tor Marancia Neighbourhood - October 22, 2023

In past seasons, we have visited  some Rome neighbourhoods that are less known to tourists, such as Garbatella and Tuffello, to explore their special architectural, social and other qualities. This time we will examine how international artists are providing a new landscape for the inhabitants of one of Rome's historical borgate, Tor Marancia, once one of the flood-prone shanty-towns which featured in Alberto Moravia and Pier Paolo Pasolini's post-war novels. These characteristics earned the area the local Roman nickname Shanghai.
