Burdel de Tango, Salón y Calle recounts, as the title suggests, the history of Tango, from its inception, 150 years ago on the Rio de la Plata, through its decline and its triumphant return to popularity in the 1970s. Eleonora Cassano and dancers of the Ballet Argentino Fundación Julio Bocca are extraordinary performers who in 5 passionate and emotionally charged scenes trace the evolution of this evocative dance. The live music is by the China Cruel Orchestra and Argentine singer Karina Levine. The scenario was written by Elio Marchi with original music and arrangements by Julian Vat, costumes created by Reana Scussheim and lighting by Omar Possemato. Trained at the Martha Graham School, Argentine choreographer and stage director Ana María Stekelman has created this captivating search for the links between tango, classical and contemporary dance. The sensuality and passion of the tango emerges in this story of a dance that defined the soul of a nation.
A limited number of tickets are available for CCR members and their guests and bookings will be accepted until October 31, 2010.
