CCR Guided Visit to "Born Invisible" Photo Exhibit - September 9, 2014

This will be a special opportunity to see the "Born Invisible" photographic exhibition at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere with the artist herself, CCR member Sheila McKinnon. Although the photos can be viewed until September 28, 2014, this visit will give us the unique opportunity to be guided by Sheila and ask questions about her work in a free and informal manner. 

Those arriving early can take a look around and watch the video detailing some of the techniques used in creating the images. Sheila's book is also available for purchase at the museum and she would be happy to sign your copy.

Sheila McKinnon (www.sheilamckinnon.com) was born in Canada and has spent most of her life in Italy. She has worked as a photographer and journalist in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Near East for various European and North American publications such as The New York Times, Newsweek, The International Herald Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, Die Welt, Beaux Arts Magazine, Saveur Magazine, the Toronto Globe & Mail, Elle Spain, Elle Hungary and most of the major Italian publications.

She has worked in collaboration with various humanitarian organizations and UN agencies such as UNICEF, FAO, UNFPA, IDLO, La Comunità di Sant’Egidio, Africare, Aidos and others.

Where: Museo di Roma in Trastevere, Piazza Sant'Egidio 1/b

Cost: Regular ticket €8.50, reduced €7.50, residents of Rome (with ID proof) €7.50 adult or €6.50 reduced.
NB: Please purchase your own ticket upon arrival. A friendly warning to late-comers: the museum ticket window closes at 7 p.m., so make sure you get there before that time and then rush to catch up with us!
Après-exhibit: Those who are available are welcome to join us for an informal aperitivo or pizza after visiting the show.
