Official Opening of the CCR 2016-2017 Season - September 29, 2016

This year, H.E. Peter McGovern, Ambassador of Canada, and Mrs Sharon McGovern, CCR Patrons of Honour, will be back at Villa Grandi as their official residence and, generous as always, they are welcoming us into their magnificent gardens for the Canadian Club of Rome's season opening reception.

CCR member Sylvie Gagnon's "Around You" catering will be back, delighting our palates with creative finger food and an open bar. 

Buffet Aperitif
Roman Panzanella (bread salad)
Caprese cups (mozzarella, tomato & basil)
Pear and gorgonzola pouches
Speck ham and provola cheese tortes
“Cotto e ricotta” ham and ricotta cheese nuggets
Pastry and tuna mousse spoonfuls
Potato, porcino mushrooms and mozzarella savoury pie
Bread and coldcut rolls
Bresaola (beef) and curcuma cream or chive cream rolls
Birramisù (beer tiramisù!)
“Water” cake with berries
Cookies with peanuts and chocolate chips
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails
Assorted fruit juices
Prosecco
Red and white wines from the Lazio Region
Sparkling and still mineral water

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: The gardens of the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Canada to Italy, Via di Porta Latina (exact address and parking details will be sent to confirmed participants only).
Cost: CCR members €25 each, guests €35 each, including all food and drinks. Advance payment required.
N.B. This event is open to guests only if accompanied by fully paid and registered CCR members.
Security: Mandatory registration of all participants. Please note that due to security requirements we will need the full name of each person attending at the time of booking. Also, it is required that you have photo ID on the evening of the event. Unfortunately anyone not on the list will be denied admission.
