CCR Walks: The Appian Way - October 20, 2024

The Appian Way or the "Queen of Roads" is one of the oldest, most important, and most complete examples of a major ancient Roman road. The Via Appia Antica was recently named a UNESCO  world heritage site. This walk traces some of the events and people linked to this great road, with stories and events both famous and notorious about its inhabitants and travellers, from Republican Rome to Fellini’s Dolce Vita.

When: Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024
Time: 10 a.m. start; 9:30 meeting for coffee.
Meeting Place: Appia Antica Caffè, Via Appia Antica, 175.
Cost: €10 for members and €15 for non-members.
