The
bookclub meeting in December was delightful, with a blazing
fireplace, glittering decorations and a most festive atmosphere. The
book was interesting as it provided abundant information about Caravaggio's
life and times, in particular about the painstaking, multi-faceted procedure
required to have a painting of uncertain provenance be finally ascertained as a master's authentic work.
