CCR Book Club - October 21, 2015

At our October meeting we'll be discussing "Three Day Road" by Canadian author Joseph Boyden. Set in the late 19th century and during the First World War, the novel revolves around the lives of two young Cree men who become snipers and scouts in the horrors of trench warfare and of the aunt of one of the two, who goes to pick up and bring home her nephew, who returns from the front without a leg, with a morphine addiction and with many battle scars, both physical and existential.

Pot Luck Dinner - A CCR Event

‘Celebrating Democracy’ Potluck

With the upcoming Canadian General Elections and events around the world and in Italy, we invite our members to join us in celebrating the lead-up to Election Day in Canada.  And we’ll do it with a good old fashioned pot luck dinner. CCR member Jocelyne Albert has kindly offered to open her home for this event.

Join in the fun and bring a bottle of wine as well as a dish to share. Choose from one of the courses and let us know what you plan to bring: ‘antipasto’, ‘primo’, ‘secondo’, salad or dessert. We suggest that you make enough for 4 to 5 people.

Celebrating Spring

Its time to celebrate the arrival of Spring here in Rome. And what better way to do it than with friends - old and new, drinks, laughter and home made goodies.

Its been a while since the CCR had a good old fashioned pot luck event so Executive member Cindi Emond thought it would be a great way to welcome in the season. She's very kindly opened her home to us for the event.
