CCR Wine Tasting: Wines from Lombardy - March 9, 2024

Everyone knows the wines of Veneto and Piedmont. But nestled in between is Lombardy, a region largely known for Franciacorta but also rich in a wide range of wine styles which we will discover together.
Where: Residence of CCR members (Monteverde Vecchio area), exact details will be sent to registered participants.
When: Saturday, March 9, 2024
Time: 7 p.m. 
Cost: €35 for members (€40 for non-members); advance payment required to confirm your place. A light dinner will follow the wine tasting.

We are pleased to have Marco Lori, Italian sommelier and wine master, lead this CCR wine tasting. Marco’s sommelier training in 1995 sparked his passion for wine and set in motion years of study. In 2014 he earned “Italian Sommelier Executive Wine Master” status, recognized by the Worldwide Sommelier Association. He is the founder of “Off the Vine,” a gastro-tourism venture in Italy.

CCR Wine Tasting: Wines from Piedmont - October 14, 2023

We are starting the season off with wines from Piedmont, one of the top wine regions of Italy. And as always, we will be discovering some little-known surprises.

Where: Residence of CCR members – outdoor terrace weather permitting, indoor if rain (Villa Patrizi area -- details will be sent to registered participants).
When: Saturday, October 14, 2023
Time: 6 p.m. 
Cost: €35 for members (€40 for non-members); advance payment required to confirm your place. A light dinner will follow the wine tasting.

CCR Sunday Lunch Wine Tasting: Unusual Wines from Northern Italy - September 27, 2020

Our wine tasting season opens with an outdoor terrace tasting and lunch in the countryside just north of Rome. Prepare to be surprised by some unusual wines from Northern Italy.

Because of safety concerns related to COVID-19, please let us know if you will be sitting as a ‘single’, a ‘couple’ or if you are forming a small ‘bubble’ of 3-4 people so that we can organize physical distancing. We kindly ask that you wear masks until seated. And, of course, do not come if you feel unwell or suspect that you may have been in contact with someone with COVID.


Where: Residence of CCR members (Via Flaminia, Riano area; the residence is in the countryside 30 minutes north of Rome just off Via Flaminia and details will be sent to registered participants).
When: Sunday, September 27, 2020 (in the event of rain, an alternative date will be proposed)
Time: 11 a.m.
Cost: €30 for members (€40 for non-members); advance payment required to confirm your place. A light lunch will follow the wine tasting.

Cynthia Chaplin, professional sommelier, member of Le Donne del Vino and professor of Italian wine and culture will lead this tasting. Born in the USA, Cynthia moved to Europe in 1990 and has lived in Spain, Belgium, England and Italy. Cynthia chose to centre her career in Rome where she works with embassies, corporations and private clients, creating and presenting tastings, events, seminars, and in-depth courses. Cynthia is a wine writer and a judge at international wine competitions.
 
This session will be given in English.
