Summertime Dolce Vita: Rooftop Season Closing Event - June 12, 2013

Let's gather on the rooftop of this beautiful hotel in the centre of Rome to toast the arrival of summer and remember the great events of the 2012-2013 club year. Breath-taking views, delicious food, amazing company -- this is la dolce vita.

Camembert,

Olive ascolane (stuffed olives), supplì (rice balls) and croquettes,

CCR Holiday Season Party - December 4, 2012

The Canadian Club of Rome welcomes the holiday season at the breathtaking, four-star boutique Hotel FortySeven this year! Featured in international magazines for its fabulous design, cuisine and hospitality, each floor of the hotel is decorated in the style of different artists such as Mastroianni, Greco, Modigliani, Quagliata and Guccione. Celebrate the holidays with friends surrounded by the Arch of Janus, the Roman Forum, the Tiber and the Temples of Portunus and Hercules in the Forum Boarium.

Our menu for this joyous occasion, prepared by celebrated Chef Vito Grippa, will include:

A glass of Prosecco and light canapés on the terrace

followed by a formal, sit-down dinner of

Prosciutto di Parma with pear salad seasoned with Chianti Classico and petals of caciocavallo cheese

Cavatelli pasta with datterini tomatoes, traditional Roman guanciale and DOP Pecorino Romano cheese

Tagliata (thick-sliced, prime beef steak) with wild rocket salad and flakes of Parmigiano Reggiano

Semifreddo dessert with Manjari chocolate and fruit sauce

Wine, water and coffee included

CCR 2012-2013 Season Opening at Canada's Official Residence in Rome - September 27, 2012

This year, once again, we will be having our grand opening cocktail party at the official residence of Canada's representative to the Italian state. Located on the grounds of the homes of an Imperial Prefect of ancient Rome and of Scipio Africanus, the residence is bordered by the beautifully-preserved remains of the acqueduct that fed the nearby Baths of Caracalla. 

The Canadian Club of Rome thanks H.E. James Fox, Ambassador of Canada, and Mrs Nurys Estrella Fox, CCR Patrons of Honour, for opening their gorgeous villa grounds to us again this year. 

The open bar will be serving both an alcohol-based and non-alcoholic version of a specially-created cocktail, in addition to sangria, Bellini cocktails, and still and sparkling water.

Finger food will include an assortment of tapas such as tortilla de patatas and tortilla de espinacas; crostini with escarole and black olives, with pancetta, soft stracchino cheese and spicy Calabrian n'duja, and with anchovies and bufala mozzarella; cups of basmati rice with crunchy vegetables; Caprese salad skewers; peppery cheese potato croquettes; and mini-meatballs in tomato sauce.

Where: The gardens of the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Canada to Italy, Via di Porta Latina 11

Cost: CCR members €25 each, guests €30 each -- includes all food and beverages 

N.B. This event is open to guests only if accompanied by fully paid and registered CCR members.

Security: Mandatory registration of all participants. Please note that due to security requirements we will need the full name of each person attending at the time of booking. Also, you are required to have photo ID to show security personnel on the evening of the event. Unfortunately anyone arriving without the required ID will be denied entrance.
