Book Presentation: Adele Weder - May 11, 2023

Adele Weder is the author of a recent book about renowned Vancouver architect Ron Thom, who designed, among many other works, Massey College and Trent University. In addition to attending the architecture Bienniale in Venice, Adele will visit various cities in Italy. We will have the pleasure of welcoming her to present her book, "Ron Thom, Architect: The Life of a Creative Modernist," exclusively to us in Rome.

Time: doors open at 6 p.m., 6:30 presentation begins (no latecomers admitted after this hour), 8 p.m. exit.

Where: The gardens of the Official Residence of Canada's Representative to the Holy See, Via di Porta San Sebastiano (exact address and details will be sent to confirmed participants only).

Cost: Free.

Security: Mandatory registration of all participants. Please note that due to Canadian embassy security requirements, we will need the full name of each person attending at the time of booking. Also, you are required to have photo ID on the day of the event. Anyone not on the guest list will be denied admission.

Official Season Closing Party - May 26, 2022

The club season closing party of the CCR this year will return to the delightful gardens of Villa Laurier, thanks to the generous welcome of Canada's Representative to the Holy See, Paul Gibbard, and of Debbie Desrosiers, to their Official Residence.

Enjoy drinks and a wide variety of elegant appetizers with members and friends as we toast the approaching end of the club season and the start of summer.

During our closing party we will be selling raffle tickets at €10 each to raise funds for Ukrainian war relief through the dedicated channel of the Italian Red Cross. Prizes include a generous Air Canada voucher and fine art prints from the Art4Ukraine exhibition here in Rome. If you would like to contribute to this cause but cannot attend the closing event in person, just let us know by email in advance and we can add the desired number of raffle tickets with your name to the draw, which will take place at the end of the evening.

CCR Official 2017-2018 Season Opening Party - September 26, 2017

Our traditional cocktail party to officially open the new Canadian Club of Rome season will be returning to one of our favourite locations! H.E. Dennis A. Savoie, Canada's Ambassador to the Holy See, and Mme Claudette Savoie, CCR Patrons of Honour, have now moved to Villa Laurier, the official Canadian residence near Porta San Sebastiano, and, ever gracious with the CCR, they will be opening this gorgeous location overlooking the ancient Aurelian Walls to our members and guests.

CCR member Sylvie Gagnon's "Around You" catering will provide delicious, creative finger food and an open bar.
