Cost: "no host" (pay your own order). For example, their aperitif tasting combo is a plate of 5 assorted appetizers plus a choice of drink at a cost of €13 for the vegetarian option, €15 for the meat-based, and €16 for the seafood-based. Other options à la carte.

Around-the-World Aperitivo - February 15, 2023

Our next aperitivo get-together will take us to a new spot that is truly multi-ethnic. The menu features drinks and both small and large dishes from countries all around the globe!

Where: Lime Restaurant & Bar, Via Ancona 33-35 (Porta Pia area)
Cost: No host; you will be responsible for your own bill; for example, Greek saganaki tapa €6.50, Swedish potato pie with salmon €13.50, Filipino lumpia tapa €6.50, etc. There's a "happy hour special" from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm, when ordering a drink gets you a serving of free nachos (corn chips, cheese, jalapenos, Pico de Gallo, sour cream & guacamole)

Welcome to our customary cocktail party to officially open the new Canadian Club of Rome season. H.E. Dennis A. Savoie, Canada's Ambassador to the Holy See, and Mme Claudette Savoie, CCR Patrons of Honour, have graciously offered the lovely garden of their Official Residence as the venue for our party.

CCR Aperitivo Competition - June 4, 2016

With so many great cooks in our CCR community, what better way to showcase our culinary ability than through some healthy -- and scrumptious -- rivalry? So here's our "aperitivo competition"!

With a partner, prepare and bring your favourite appetizer (savoury or sweet) and an accompanying drink (wine, beer, liquor or non-alcoholic) for a tasting for 16. Participants will vote on the best aperitivo in two categories: best overall; and presentation/innovation. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners.

To top it off, all entry fees will go towards supporting this yea'rs CCR charity, Frontier College’s Lieutenant Governor’s Aboriginal Summer Reading Camps.

Arrivederci Aperitivo: CCR 2013-2014 Season Closing Event - June 30, 2014

 As the Canadian Club of Rome's 2013-2014 season draws to a close, let's gather at another lovely location to share our plans for the summer break and exchange our arrivederci wishes until we meet again in September. 

The historic Hotel Locarno will be the setting for our elegant yet relaxed aperitivo in classic Roman style. Drinks plus finger food!

CCR Apericena KmZero - September 30, 2013

What is an "apericena"? It's the latest trend sweeping Italian cities: a blend of aperitivo and cena! The Canadian Club of Rome will have exclusive access to "TASTEvere KmZero" (on the day of the week they are normally closed to the general public). This small daytime organic food store and rustic evening wine bar in the Trastevere district has become renowned for its carefully selected wines and beers and its locally-sourced food specialties.

Tasting Menu (served buffet style):

Sheep's milk cheeses (2 stages of aging)

Pork coldcuts (salame, prosciutto, lonza and guanciale)

Bruschetta - two types, with Sabina DOP e.v. olive oil and friggitelli peppers, and with tomatoes and pesto ricotta
